To prevent the Cloud App Launcher from being used to run unauthorized applications or malicious software, PowerBuilder has made improvements to the security policies of the launcher. For more details, refer to this section.
To benefit from these security improvements, please upgrade the launcher to PowerBuilder 2025 or later.
Please notice the following limitation when upgrading the launcher and application to PowerBuilder 2025 or later:

If you are upgrading from a version earlier than PowerBuilder 2022 R3 3391, the first time the upgraded application is started, it must be run via a web browser. After that, the application can be started through the desktop icon or the Start menu. If end users directly run the application from the desktop icon on the first run, the error "Failed to parse the configuration file" will display.
Tip
To workaround this limitation (to avoid having to launch the application via a web browser on the first run), you can upgrade first to 2022 R3 3391 and then to 2025 or later.
