Improvements

PowerBuilder

The following feature changes are included in PowerBuilder 2017 R3 (MR 1951):

  • (Online and offline license) Starting from PowerBuilder 2017 R3 MR 1951 (and PowerBuilder 2019 R3 GA), one user account can log into more than one version on the same machine simultaneously, just like logging into the multiple instances of the same version.

Previously, if your user account has been used to log into one version of PowerBuilder, then this same account cannot be used to log into another version of PowerBuilder on the same machine, unless this account is logged out first. While in PowerBuilder 2017 R3 MR 1951 (and PowerBuilder 2019 R3 GA), the same account can be used to log into more than one version on the same machine simultaneously. For example, if you have installed and logged into 2019 R3 GA successfully, and then if you installed PowerBuilder 2017 R3 MR 1951, you can automatically log into PowerBuilder 2017 R3 MR 1951 using the same user account of 2019 R3 GA, without needing to log out from 2019 R3 GA first.

IMPORTANT notes (for both online and offline license upgrade): If you want to upgrade PowerBuilder to 2019 R3 GA or 2017 R3 MR 1951, you will need to log out from PowerBuilder to deactivate the license first before the upgrade, otherwise, the license file will be occupied and may not be upgraded successfully, and you may need to log out the license (if it is an online license) from the Appeon website or contact Appeon support to log out the license (if it is an offline license).
