PowerServer Toolkit installation

Prerequisites

  • The developer PC meets the system requirements in PowerServer Toolkit requirements.

  • Verify that PowerBuilder 2019 R3 is installed by running the PowerBuilder Setup program.

  • Shut down PowerBuilder, SQL Anywhere, and any other Windows programs before beginning the installation process.

  • Verify in Windows Task Manager that the following processes are not running under the Process tab: EonADT[xx].exe and pb[xx].exe. If these processes are running, be sure to end them.

Installation instructions

Step 1: Launch the online installer or offline installer and select to install PowerServer Toolkit (see Starting the online installer or Starting the offline installer).

The following uses offline installer to show the installation process. It is similar with using the online installer.

Step 2: Specify a location for installing PowerServer Toolkit. Click Next to install to the default location, or click Browse to select another location.

Step 3: Specify the server name and port number for PowerServer and Web server used in PowerServer Toolkit. Click Next.

If you want to use a PowerServer that has been already installed to the same machine where PowerServer Toolkit is being installed, use the default values. If you want to use a remote PowerServer, specify the server name and port number of the remote server. The setup program can automatically configure the Server Profile and Deployment Profile in the PowerServer Toolkit Configuration window for the specified servers.

Yon can change these settings in the Configure tool of PowerServer Toolkit after the installation when necessary. For detailed instructions, refer to the section called “Managing server profiles” in PowerServer Toolkit User Guide.

Step 4: Select the location of an SAP SQL Anywhere engine for running Appeon Demos.

As Appeon Demos connect with an SAP SQL Anywhere database, therefore, you will need to select an SAP SQL Anywhere engine. Setup lists all copies of SAP SQL Anywhere engines detected in your machine.

If you have already specified a SQL Anywhere engine during the PowerBuilder 2019 R3 installation process, then you will not need to specify it again, the setup program will directly use that engine and go to the next step.

Step 5: Check the summary of settings. Click Back to change any unwanted settings or click Next and Setup will begin copying files.

Step 6: Wait until the installation is complete.

Step 7: Click Finish to exit.
