Feature |
Required Software |
---|---|
The following table lists the software required for PowerBuilder features. Install any required framework packages and SDKs before you install PowerBuilder. Microsoft developer software is available from the Microsoft Download Center. Read this table carefully to determine whether you need to install any software before you run the installer, and whether you need to install SQL Anywhere or PostgreSQL before installing PowerBuilder. If you select a feature with a prerequisite that is not yet installed, the installer displays a warning message. |
|
.NET Web services local host deployment (Obsolete) |
Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.5 or higher. NoteOn the development computer, IIS is not required for PowerBuilder applications or components unless the same computer is used as server for smart client applications, or for Web service components. IIS is also not required on end users' computers. |
PowerBuilder tutorials, demo databases, and sample applications |
SQL Anywhere 16 or 17 or PostgreSQL 11.3, 12, or 13. A 32-bit ODBC driver is required as PowerBuilder IDE is a 32-bit program. If you want to use the PostgreSQL engine, make sure both the PostgreSQL client (included in Command Line Tools of the PostgreSQL Windows installer) and PostgreSQL ODBC driver (32-bit) are installed. If the installer does not detect SQL Anywhere or PostgreSQL on your computer, it displays a warning. If you choose to continue, the installer will install the demo database files but will not set up the database connection automatically. In order to run the demo application against the demo database, you will need to install SQL Anywhere or PostgreSQL first, then manually configure the database connection. |
