    Temporarily converts a string from Unicode to DBCS based on the current locale, then returns the specified number of bytes from the string.

    Syntax

    Parameters

    value System.String

    The string you want to search from left to right.

    n System.Int32

    An Int specifying the number of bytes of the characters in the return string.

    Returns

    System.String

    Returns the characters for the leftmost n bytes in the source string if it succeeds and the empty string ("") if an error occurs. If n is null, LeftA returns null. If n is greater than or equal to the length of the string, LeftA returns the entire string. It does not add spaces to make the return value's length equal to n.
